Rocker panel repair
Check how to correctly protect car rocker panels using products from the NOVOL SPRAY line.
- PLUS 800 – preliminary degreaser
- EPOXY PRIMER – epoxy primer
- ANTIGRAVEL – (variant A) – body protection coating
- SPRAY PREFILL (variant A) + basecoat matched according to the colour code
- CLEARCOAT (variant A) – clearcoat
- BITUMEN (variant B) – bitumen-based underbody protection coating
- CAVITY WAX (optional) – cavity protection wax
- red abrasive non-woven pad
- dry sandpaper: P400, P500
- tack rag
- paper towel
- masking materials: masking paper or protective film, masking tape
- sanding disc
Thoroughly wash the repair area with lukewarm water and detergent.
Mask the area not being repaired with masking paper or masking film.
Thoroughly remove the corrosion using a sanding disc fitted to a drill.
Matt the entire rocker panel with a red abrasive non-woven pad and feather out any uneven areas with P400-500 sandpaper. Degrease the surface with the preliminary degreaser PLUS 800.
Protect areas sanded through to bare metal with EPOXY PRIMER epoxy primer.
- thoroughly mix the primer by shaking the can for 2 minutes
- apply 2-3 coats of epoxy primer (flash-off time between coats: approx. 5 minutes)
- drying time: 10-15 minutes/20°C
- after finishing work, clean the nozzle for 5 seconds by turning the can upside down
EPOXY PRIMER
Anti-corrosion, epoxy spray

Protect the rocker panel with ANTIGRAVEL body protection coating, which creates a fine-grained protective layer.
- degrease the surface with PLUS 800 preliminary degreaser
- thoroughly mix the body protection coating by shaking the can for 2 minutes
- apply 2-3 coats (flash-off time between coats: 5-10 minutes)
- drying time: 40-60 minutes/20°C
- after finishing work, clean the nozzle for 5 seconds by turning the can upside down

Rocker panel and chassis protection

To obtain a textured effect in the body colour, use a basecoat in a SPRAY PREFILL can, matched according to the colour code.
- thoroughly mix by shaking the can for 2 minutes
- apply 2-3 coats (flash-off time between coats: 5-10 minutes)
- after finishing work, clean the nozzle for 5 seconds by turning the can upside down
PREFILL
Semi-product for self-filling with solvent-based products
Wipe the basecoat surface (colour coat) with a tack rag and apply CLEARCOAT clearcoat.
- thoroughly mix the clearcoat by shaking the can for 2 minutes
- apply 2-3 coats of clearcoat (flash-off time between coats: 5-10 minutes)
- drying time: 2 h/20°C
- after finishing work, clean the nozzle for 5 seconds by turning the can upside down
CLEARCOAT
Spray clearcoat. For spot repairs

If you do not need the rocker panel finished in the body colour, you can use BITUMEN, a bitumen-based product, as the final finish.
Remember that BITUMEN must not be overcoated with paint.
- degrease the surface
- mix the product well by shaking the can for 2 minutes
- apply 3-4 coats (flash-off time between coats: 5-10 minutes)
- drying time: 60 minutes/20°C
- clean the nozzle for 5 seconds by turning the can upside down
BITUMEN
Underbody protection coating

For long-lasting anti-corrosion protection, you can apply CAVITY WAX, a wax-based cavity protection product.
- mix the product well by shaking the can for 2 minutes
- introduce the product using the cavity adapter
- after finishing work, clean the nozzle for 5 seconds by turning the can upside down
