Protect the surrounding area and any parts not requiring repair with masking paper.

Sand the damaged area with P180-P240 abrasive paper.

Blow off the surface and degrease it again with the in-process cleaner PLUS 780.

If the repair area requires filling (e.g. deep scratches), apply a putty designed for plastics: BUMPER FIX or BUMPER FIBER (with glass fibre), both of which provide very high flexibility and excellent adhesion to most plastics.

Once the putty has fully cured, sand it with abrasive paper, reducing the grit sequence: P180 – P280 – P320.

Blow off the surface and degrease it with the in-process cleaner PLUS 780.

Apply PLASTIC PRIMER adhesion promoter to areas sanded through to bare plastic.

• apply 1-2 coats (flash-off time between coats: 5-10 min)
• drying time: 15 min/20°C
• clean the nozzle for 5 sec by turning the can upside down

Apply ACRYLIC PRIMER to the repaired element.

• apply 2-3 coats (flash-off time between coats: 5-10 min)
• drying time: 15-30 min/20°C or 15 min/60°C
• clean the nozzle for 5 sec by turning the can upside down

After the acrylic primer has dried completely, sand it together with the adjoining undamaged area using P400-P500 abrasive paper dry or P800-P1000 wet, or with a grey scuff pad (Ultra Fine).

Blow off the surface and degrease it with the in-process cleaner PLUS 780.

Order the basecoat in a SPRAY PREFILL can based on the colour code or a sample.

Apply the base colour to the repaired element.

Wipe the basecoat surface with a tack rag.

Apply CLEARCOAT clearcoat.

If necessary, apply the blending thinner EXTRA 895 Spray in two very thin coats at the transition between the old paintwork and the freshly applied CLEARCOAT clearcoat.

To obtain a texture similar to plastic, use STRUCTURE TOPCOAT in the selected shade (black or anthracite).
